153 DTMJ Collection — 7’th of December 2009

Once again, with his latest collection the designer points out that the most essential elements of Romania’s tradition can be brought to such a level that his design has a global contemporary look.

His big interest in exploring new dimensions of applied art resulted in the 3Dimensional prints on silk, which have been realized in collaboration with Austrian artist Thomas Anton Binder. The prints can be seen with special 3D glasses and people wore them live during the show.

Also available now: collection details, runway video and interviews.

Pasarela Bucharest/Paris Festival May 2009

Pasarela Festival Bucharest/Paris is one of the most important fashion events in Romania. The concept was built by the Artistic Director of the Festival — Mr. Philippe Guilet de Saint Mart and by His Excellence Ambassador Henri Paul (French Embassy in Romania) with the support of Cultural French Institute in Bucharest (Mr Didier Montagne). They brought to Romania important names of French Fashion Industry, such as : Didier Grumbach, Sylvie Grumbach, Ann Valerie Hash or Pierre Berge.

Adrian Oianu was the Romanian designer invited by the French Embassy to launch his new collection in the second edition of  Pasarela Bucharest/Paris Festival 2009.

In this collection, strong related to Romanian fairy-tales’ roots “Jocul Ielelor”, Oianu focus on the reinterpretation of specific Romanian traditional elements, from the villages, in a contemporary view. The spontaneous but in the same time very accurate way of sewing, the wanted unfinished cuts, the pure, simple (but not simplistic) forms and volumes, the hand-made textures on fabrics, the illusion of the imperfect colors, they all give you a hint about the Romanian Village and the way of living there. It is about the reflection on the purity lost in the big cities and found in the middle of the Romanian nature, translated in a contemporary and precious look.

For a complete show atmosphere, Eugene Al Pann, a Romanian contemporary artist created special surrealistic art forms, dressed in Oianu design, which where floating up in the air.

This time elegance was translated in fine cuts and completed the look of the everyday source of inspiration for Adrian, which is the Romanian authentic and fragile beauty.

No 11 — the Teacher Collection — October 2008

After the last collections, where pastel and uni-colors seemed to be the last word in Oianu’s collections, he came now with a painterly eye giving a large spectrum of shocking-bright prints mixtures. It is the first time the designer explores in almost every piece the playful fusion of prints. Using the big frame glasses, the collection give the feeling of a contemporary return of Nana Mouskouri with a 70’s feeling prep look.

During the show there where specific messages projected on the wall or that you could hear during the soundtrack, for “wearing design” awareness. Once again, Adrian is straight in his belief that fashion design should be consumed such as art or music and is part of everyday life.

No 10 Collection - June 2008

We have sensitive femininity” would shout again on the catwalk the designer’s dresses. This is a new example that continuity of the style doesn’t mean repetition. It means exploration of new cuts, volumes, fluidity and another attitude of the Silk — his favorite fabric. Everything comes together again very natural, very appealing and very harmonious. The sexuality is not aggressive but you could say it’s a noisy statement of purity and grace.

The collection was presented during a charity event (Stars Wheelchair Competition) organized by the designer for Motivation Foundation.

Also available now : Details and Runway Video.

Limited Edition I Collection — December 2007

Limited Edition I” was presented during the first edition of Special Olympics event and it was organized by Adrian Oianu in one of the most beautiful buildings in Bucharest — The CEC Palace.

A 20’s inspiration sophisticated line of dresses was completed by signature details such as ornamental stones and splashing textures. Original colors such as mustard yellow were like a flash of light among basic but graphical combinations.

The Beat Collection — October 2007

The Music Fashion Show”  — a visual spectacular happening where “The beat” shaken the people in a visually and auditory way. A new technological application on design was shown for the first time in Romania, which was named : ” the virtual print”. This, projected live on the white dresses, gave us a hint about what the future may look like in fashion — people wearing a TV-Print on the clothes. This way the colors and the images could change everyday and the way we would want to. This was a mixture between visual art and contemporary technology.

The vibration of the sound goes through the multisurfaced and the color pulse. A very fine line at the border between the dress and the trenchcoat is explored by analytical eye of Oianu and gives us in the end a new piece with ornamental zippers — The Tress. The Tress can also stand for the concept of the show — being a symbol for different types of nowadays music fusion.

Also available : details and runway show.

Main Partners : Mercedes-Benz (Autoklass Center), Asti (Lerida Romania), Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Red-Bull Romania

Juvenification Collection — June 2007

A subtle mathematical exercise applied with stubborn precision on every single dress gives us another example of how traditional Romanian shirt can be maximum reduced to universal contemporary elements. The dress, perfect for almost every age is enough for spring or summer days. Hand-made applied precious stones and original texture on design give you the real feeling you don’t need to think of anything else to put on.

Also available now : details and runway show.

Main Partners : Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Campari, Nescafe Xpress

Cinecitta Collection — March 2007

The volumes exploration, the textures, the precious surface are now applied in a new direction for the designer — the trenchcoat. The atmosphere reminded us of Fellini’s sophisticated and mysterious woman, coming from the Cinecitta movie set, with a power which is emphasized especially by her fragile femininity.

Also available : details and runway movie.

Main Partners : Audi (Porsche Romania), Campari, Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Canon

5Th Collection — November 2006

The collection is inspired by 80’s look, Romanian peasant and Orthodox priests traditional costumes but in a very subtle, minimal way. The ethnical is eliminated for good and the contemporary comes to light. There is a specific nonchalant look, everything seems to be very easy, very natural, very simple but in the same time extremely sophisticated and unique.

Also available : details and runway video.

“I live again” Collection — June 2006

The first collection launched by designer Adrian Oianu after his returning to Romania is a new statement for his way of feeling reflected in -“I live again” designed dresses. The inspiration came from the book of Princess Ileana of Romania, the daughter of Queen Marie and King Eduard and the sister of King Carol II. The discover of the source of unfinished elements related to unique Romanian woman’s fragility, femininity and pureness stands for a new direction of Oianu’s creativity, for which now “he lives again”.
